The venue somehow gave me that retro warehouse vibe. It's super aesthetic with rays of natural light. The menu somehow felt like featuring Japanese theme with obviously various coffee and tea based drinks. They did serve some brunch menu and several pastries including tarts. Having the matcha canele displayed next to the checkout made me unable to skip it. Other than prolly too much matcha powder on top of it making it kinda powdery, this petite pastry was little pleasure! Crunchy coating, gooey and chewy center, with great balance of sweetness and slight matcha bitterness. I got their iced Hojicha Latte, which got me pleased. The only downsides were it's tad grainy, besides I wish they had either almond or soy milk beyond just whole and oat milk. Beyond those two, it was impressive with solid roasted tea flavor.

If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out! I’ve been twice and tried four different dishes, and every single one was delicious and had its own unique flavor. The acidity in the dishes is just right, reminding me of meals I’ve had in Copenhagen or Tokyo. The food quality is just as good as (if not better than) high end spots in LA, and the wine selection is great too. Highly recommend this bistro/cafe!

Came here with my husband and loved everything we got! Not too many gluten free options but got the Falafel salad which was exactly what I wanted. My husband got the jelly donut and enjoyed every second of it. He also got the avocado toast w/ kohlrabi and thought it was “phenomenal.” Prices are typical for what you would expect in LA (not overpriced as some people mentioned), cool vibes, friendly staff, would def recommend to others!

Café 2001 is a total gem. The katsu sando is hands-down one of the best in LA, and the hojicha latte was smooth and unforgettable. I also loved the cherry tart—beautiful and not too sweet. Service was warm and thoughtful. Whether you’re coming for coffee, brunch, or happy hour, this place nails it. Can’t wait to come back!

Massive vibes, immaculate food, attentive service by Andrew. Juiciest fried chicken and gourmet dumplings tapped into my soul and guided me straight to euphoria.

An Absolute Gem. I’ve lived in Europe and Asia and know what truly good food tastes like — and I have to say, what you’re doing here is simply exceptional, especially by American standards. Every dish is incredibly delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with care and intention. The coffee is outstanding, the baristas are skilled and friendly, and the interior design is full of style and thought. Even the music — tasteful and never overpowering — adds to the overall experience. Thank you so much. Places like this are rare, and that’s exactly why they matter. When you find one, you truly appreciate it.

Not sure why this place has such mid tiered reviews, I went with my husband and absolutely loved it. It’s a quaint place to enjoy an intimate time with friends or by yourself. Server had great wine recommendations and not once did we feel rushed. The area feels very comforting and at the same time it takes you back into the past. I love coming here to unwind a little bit. I only wish they were open a bit longer!
